One of the most baffling, but continously uttered, takes I see about my esteemed home of Seattle, Washington, is this:

"It has bad weather".

This is a mostly weird opinion to me. I can get it, don't get me wrong, the rain isnt for everyone. But what's really baffling is usually who it is coming from. Which is, most often, people in exceptionally "nice" climates - California, Florida, et al. The funny part to me?

I think all of these places have abysmally dogshit weather.

Perhaps you enjoy a singular season - I do not. I love the fall, I love the winter. I love the briskness of cold, the clean air of this time of year. I am currently sitting in a coffee shop in Little Saigon in Seattle, hashing out this post, and it is 54 degrees, sunny, and beautiful outside. The fall leaves are scattering the roads, theres a certain freshness to the air, its my favourite time of year. I am also, right now, scheduled to get on a flight in 4 hours to San Jose, California, where it is currently in the 80s. On the second day of November.

Anyone who claims to me that 80 degree weather in November (for the Northern Hemisphere) is "good weather" might as well be speaking a different language. I understand weather is a subjective experience, but I dont fully understand why someone wants the same weather experience year-round. Consistency, I suppose? I don't disagree with those who say, dislike the rain (I love it personally, but I get it, being wet sucks a little bit.)

There isn't much point to this post. I just am a little peeved im gonna be yanked away from my tranquil fall days up here to go back to what as may (to me) be the eternal hellfire of Satan in terms of temperature (side effect of growing up in the PNW - 80 degrees I view as very hot. I know it isn't to many others.) But maybe I have something to learn here, something to value in this unfamiliar, alien temperatures to me. Or maybe I just learn to know what I like and what I dislike.

I hope this post provided value to you. It probably didn't! It's all just personal subjective BS that's mostly meaningless. But, god, I love the fall - that's really I want to get across.
